WoF training

1. WOF Training – One-week on-site theory and practical training provided to new vehicle inspectors preparing them for the NZTA test. All paper work and requirements should be met to NZTA standards and after completion of the training the candidates are to be issued with a completion letter and certificate of achievement.

General requirements • The inspecting organisation must continue to comply with the applicable requirements in this section.
• The inspecting organisation must maintain their premises and equipment in a good state of repair at all times while conducting inspection and certification activities.
• The inspecting organisation must use any specified equipment when inspecting a vehicle, where appropriate.
• Inspection equipment must meet equipment manufacturer’s requirements and have current calibration.
• Brake performance testing equipment must be calibrated at least every 12 months, or more frequently if required by the equipment manufacturer, or following any maintenance that may alter the calibration.
• Inspections must take place in the inspection area, using the approved or specified equipment, unless otherwise permitted by Waka Kotahi.
• It is the IO’s responsibility to ensure that the inspection premises and equipment it uses comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, and any other relevant Acts, regulations and local bylaws.

QMS

PURPOSE This paper outlines the NZ Transport Agency (Transport Agency) requirements that an Inspecting Organisation (IO) must meet to assure quality. The requirements are referred to as Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. All IOs must have an operational QMS to ensure that the Transport Agency’s requirements are met, as a condition of appointment. These requirements are contained in the Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual (VIRM). This will ensure that vehicle inspection and certification outcome standards are maintained or improved.

AIM
The aim of a QMS is to ensure that the IO has suitable management systems in place to provide Vehicle Inspectors (VIs) with the necessary environment to ensure outcomes that consistently meet the Transport Agency’s standards

Refresher Course

Refresher training provided to existing vehicle inspectors and inspecting organsation in regards to the usage of evirm and the correct procedure of carrying out vehicle inspection.

Part 1 training provides the correct skills on the usage of the inspection tools and equipment

Part 2 In this section the candidates will complete training on the Evirm and relate their knowledge in correct inspection outcome. Discuss on the new updates, LVV and new item on WOF related issues.
